The SmallRig Advanced Cage Kit 3669C is a versatile and durable rigging solution tailored for the Sony Alpha 7R V, Alpha 7 IV, and Alpha 7S III. Designed by Tracy Joy, this kit significantly improves handheld shooting by reducing arm load, enhancing stability, and offering an extensive range of accessory mounting options.
The kit includes a precision-engineered camera cage, HDMI cable clamp (3000), ARRI locating top handle (2165C), ergonomic side handle with adapter, and Allen wrench. Built from high-strength aluminum alloy and stainless steel, with a silicone-insert side grip, it combines rugged durability with comfortable handling for long shooting sessions.
The top handle provides a firm grip for low-angle shots and easy carrying, while the side handle supports stable two-handed operation. Multiple 1/4″-20 threaded holes, ARRI 3/8″-16 locating holes, NATO rails, and cold shoe mounts allow users to attach essential accessories such as monitor mounts (2294/2903), microphones, LED lights, and more.
The included HDMI cable clamp, secured via a 1/4″-20 screw and locating pins, locks cables firmly with a thumbscrew to protect the camera’s HDMI port and ensure reliable signal transmission. Holes on both sides of the cage also support hand strap attachment for additional stability.
For convenience, the cage integrates a magnetic flat-head screwdriver and hex spanner, streamlining setup and adjustments in the field. Installation is secure, with anti-deflection pins and a side-lock adapter to keep the camera stable during use.
